I remember Wallis tippers, blue TK Bedfords, I think. One forced me off the Allhallows road, once, into a snow drift. Took me ages to get out. Wasn't there another tipper company called Whelhams, or something, from Strood?

Whelham and Thompson Strood Ltd. I worked for that company also, red J type Bedfords, they used to have a gravel pit at Allhallows, which once belonged to another tipper haulage company...Colin Teers if my memory is correct.  :) erfman

There was another tipper company called Augers, I think. They had orange coloured TK Bedfords. Also there was Parham's of Gillingham and Palmers of Wigmore that also ran under Wigmore Transport & L J Palmer.

Reply Potters Transport Tower Hamlets. I worked there in 1965, drove a bull nosed Bedford with a canvas cover over the back like a wagon, My first job was East India Docks to pick up a load of timber. I stayed the night in the cab as they sent me to Tooley Street. I paid for the night through a hole in the wall and went upstairs to this huge room with cardboard partitions. The smell of feet was unbelievable, so I left and stayed in the cab, needless to say, not much sleep.

Potters lorries--think they are Bedfords--loading scrap for Dover Industries Ltd at Eastern Arm, Dover. Probably early 1960s

The middle truck looks like a Bedford, the other two are Ford ET6's.
