Title: Canterbury Air raid
Post by: Bensted on August 18, 2018, 14:39:28
On the 21st of June 1915 Sub Lt. H A Buss, RNAS flew to Canterbury to intercept "a reported hostile aeroplane".
Does anyone have any further information on this subject please?

The raid is not listed in The Air Defence of Britain 1914-1918 by Cole & Cheesman, the definitive work on the subject, so a false alarm.
There is a photo of Sub Lt Horace A Buss, later Squadron Leader Buss OBE DSC @ http://www.kenthistoryforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=3205.0 (http://www.kenthistoryforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=3205.0)

Thanks for the information. His aircraft was an Avro 504B and my father was his passenger.
