News: “Over the graves of the Druids and under the wreck of Rome,
Rudely but surely they bedded the plinth of the days to come.
Behind the feet of the Legions and before the Norseman’s ire
Rudely but greatly begat they the framing of State and Shire
Rudely but deeply they laboured, and their labour stand till now.
If we trace on ancient headlands the twist of their eight-ox plough.”

I have just been informed that there has been an application to turn this building into an old peoples residential home.

I quite like that idea  :)

I thought this cold war  bunker might be listed so i checked.

The bunker is situated behind the Municipal Buildings on Canterbury street in Gillingham.  The first ever site I found and I'm still trying to get inside it

Lol, you should`ve asked me. It`s in the Gillingham Park Article 4(2) Conservation area. I guess it`s covered even though it`s underground?
Here`s some info and a booklet: http://www.medway.gov.uk/index/environment/9984.html/conserveareas.htm#26_conservation_areas http://www.medway.gov.uk/gilingham_pk_bklt-5.pdf
