News: “Over the graves of the Druids and under the wreck of Rome,
Rudely but surely they bedded the plinth of the days to come.
Behind the feet of the Legions and before the Norseman’s ire
Rudely but greatly begat they the framing of State and Shire
Rudely but deeply they laboured, and their labour stand till now.
If we trace on ancient headlands the twist of their eight-ox plough.”

Does anyone have any pictures of the above? I remember it well from being driven past it during the '70's and 80's'. All the lorries used to park in the garages that stretched the length of the building, beneath the offices above.
I also used to visit Brett's Sports Ground behind the offices as well. My Dad used to play Bat & Trap for the Post Office ('B' Team) there and I used to love going there (as well as other locations) during the late 70's' and early 80's' and having a bottle of coke and some Golden Wonder ready salted crisps from the club bar.
