Smiler, you're absolutely correct, when built, HMS Africa was indeed the world`s largest warship. She wasn't to remain that way for long as the following year, Portsmouth Dockyard floated out the warship which was to make HMS Africa and every other battleship like her obsolete - HMS Dreadnought.

Launched at Chatham 1905, at the time the world`s biggest battleship. She was 457 ft long, displaced 16,350 tons with a speed in excess of 18 knots.
