Just a few photos from within this place. Still some of the original shoe related equipment in there!

What a shame. I remember when it was open during my time in Ernest Road during the 60's.  Went to visit this area a while ago and could not believe the Post Office is now a house!

I walked past this building earlier today, sadly someone has made a hole in the door and it probably won`t be long before vandals destroy it? I was able to peep inside and it looks as though it has been set on fire in the past as there are burned beams and lots of bin liners full of paper and rubbish. Won`t be long before another old building disappears which is a great shame. :(

Looks like it might have been originally a stable block?

Certainly been closed a long time I remember the shop on the corner above being Jocks, a barbers shop, and my mother giving me 9d to get my haircut at Udens in Palmerstone Rd and going to Jock who only charged a tanner. :)

Thank you, its such a nice little building it will be a shame for it to be lost.  I hope someone can find a use for it.

It was a shoe repairers. My wife remembers it from childhood (born just round the corner in  Sydney Road - 1928) and I remember it from living in Sturla Road from 1953 - I'm sure it was still open when we moved away in 1970. My wife thinks it was run by two brothers.
It's no use getting old if you don't get artful
