Fascinating thread and good detective work by all concerned.  I was only talking about the isolation hospital last night.

Here's another view of the hospital, up on the top left.

I had a wander in those woods yesterday and happened upon this tree. It almost seems like there was a "Wicker Man" style sacrifice here. Any ideas?

That un-named road and Tarmac in the photos is probably the old route of Hoath Lane from before the Link Road's construction.

I had a wander round both sides of Hoath way and found nothing in the way of any signs of the hospital. The only thing I found was signs of a tarmac road on the west side. I can only think it's the un-named road on the map shown between Scrubs lane and Hoath Lane. There was a fire hydrant and and some concrete rubble nearby.. I've put a link to roughly where I found the road at the bottom of the pictures

Hi all.

I had a squizz at the chatham news index and came across this under the years 1914-1919. (so i suppose their must be an article to see)

Alexandra hospital, Wigmore, for cerebo-spinal-meningitis. 9 June 17-5.

Paul, I think you are correct in your position on the map, someone told me many years ago, as we were driving past that point, that a hospital used to be there.

Very interesting...i didn't know there used to be one there.

On one of my recent maps there's a footpath called "Hospital Hill" at that location.
