News: “Over the graves of the Druids and under the wreck of Rome,
Rudely but surely they bedded the plinth of the days to come.
Behind the feet of the Legions and before the Norseman’s ire
Rudely but greatly begat they the framing of State and Shire
Rudely but deeply they laboured, and their labour stand till now.
If we trace on ancient headlands the twist of their eight-ox plough.”

They all probably came from Luton Road/Castle Road area of Chatham, in case anyone else can spot a relative.

This photo, found in my late Aunt's many pictures is inscribed:

"On the road to Folkestone. June 1st 1926"

I think that she is the face looking over the front seat passengers, her sister (my mother) sitting next to the driver, and their mother in the black hat - centre looking towards my aunt.
