On Friday I managed to get into Essex and back without my passport and took these from Hadleigh Castle -

The mist gradually cleared and these views show Grain power station, Thames Port, Kingsnorth power station, the end of the Isle of Grain with Grain Tower and Sheerness Docks/Garrison Point and Minster hills beyond.

Thanks everyone,

I did wonder if they were the church remains but I had never been there at such a low tide so wandered out (carefully). The solid clay ran out about this point so I wasnt goinf to venture further although the odd projection covered in seaweed could be seen. These ones have tracks of iron work (two are visible in the pic) and without anything thing to scrape with the stones appeared to be a more regular concrete type shape.

Paul...Just noticed you have already identified stones as a machine gun post in your posting.Just shows you that you cannot rely on what local people say without checking it yourself. All the best, john.

PS... there are some stones on the beach at the right hand side of the gap, are these the same as those at warden?

I have been told by locals that this is the base remains of St James Church Warden. It looks to be in about the right position as well.Next time someone is down there it may pay to have a look and see if the stones are dressed.All the best, John.

Any idea what this is in the foreground?

 Went on a ramble under the auspices of a fossil hunt today.

 Must admit fossils disappointing unless you want wood! Until last knockings at Warden Point

 Any ideas? Near to Sound Mirror above.

Yeah,There's some interesting buildings and other things at Fletchers Kyn OO

That stone that had "Fallen" on was from a ruined structure near the Barges (i think)
We wasn't sure what it was exactly ???

Merc Re 'FALLEN' have a look at this link it will tell you all about the inscribed stone,it was produced along with other works along the foreshore of Sheppey by artists.

Fletchers Batterey is not accesable by car now :(
And has been "Prettied Up" in the last year destroying all the original "paint work" and "Camo."
Maybe it's big horse I'm a Londoner. :{
