Barretts of Canterbury - some memories
« Reply #1 on: January 02, 2012, 15:22:04 »

For those of you who have fond memories of Barretts over the years you might find the following link interesting - a potted history of the company.

My main memory is of the well stocked toy shop in St Peters Street and then it moved to their new store in St Georges Street (now C&H Fabrics).  The enormous Christmas train layout every year attracted hundreds of spectators - resulting in good sales for the store.
