News: The modern name of Kent is derived from the Brythonic word kantos meaning "rim" or "border", or possibly from a homonymous word kanto "horn, hook"

St Francis of Assisi, Strood
Does anyone have any memories or photos of the 'old' St Francis which was at the bottom of Elaine Avenue (where the maisonettes are now).  I used to attend Sunday School there, and from memory seem to recall it as not really looking like a church building at all.  The vicarage at that time was in Lancelot Avenue, Strood, or at least it was where the vicar lived - may have been a bungalow.  Vicar had a horrible little yapping dog!
