There should be a few more looking at this map :)
And if they were all replaced.
Including one in the Ashcroft area.

Here is the beacon at the water tower, Chequers Terrace, Minster, Sheppey. I believe this is the highest point on the Island also.

Stumbled across this one at Bishopstone, Herne Bay when out for a walk along the beach.

At the top of Fort Hill, Margate is a fire beacon in the approx area that Margate Battery once stood.
It is missing the basket at the top and has no sign either.

There is a plaque on it which reads:
PRESENTED BY
IRVIN LEISURE LTD.
TO COMMEMORATE THE
FIRE OVER ENGLAND
CELEBRATIONS ON THE 19TH JULY 1988
IRVIN LEISURE LTD. THE POPLARS,
POPLAR ROAD, ASHFORD, MIDDLESEX

There are also a couple of cannon nearby too.

Drove past this one yesterday and popped back today to take some pictures.
Its is only down the road from me and I've been along the road quite a few times  :D

I wouldn't want to light this one. It's on a hill just outside Little Mongeham, nr Deal:

I bet you can't guess the name of the hill.  :P

Just having another look for info on these and what I said above (I think) happened in 1988 and it was for 400 years of the Spanish Armarda as I believe these beacons where set up all along the south coast to warn of the Spanish ships. We did something at Junior School for it and I was Francis Drake  ;D

I think there is one on Fort Hill, Margate. Next time I'm that way I will have a look.

I remember the Pegwell one being lit, probably late 80's. My Mum and Dad woke my sister and I up and we went to it late one night.
Don't know how regularly it gets used if at all.
