Chatham Hill used to be called Beacon Hill, and there was a Beacon at the top near Canterbury Street from about the 16th to 18th Century.

There was also one on barrow Hill in Beacon Lane near Upnor.

There used to be one at the Strand,Gillingham and one on the Darland Banks,Gillingham.
Not sure if either one is still standing or not, will have to take a look.
