Roman Leaden Coffin Found at the New Cemetery, Chatham - 1878

In plot 0. near the wall of the Chatham Football Ground is a stone inscribed:-

"This stone was erected by the Board on the spot where a Roman Leaden coffin, enclosing human remains and other remains, was found on 17th May 1878"
