I'm wondering about those circles visible in the photo. At first sight they look like filled-in gun positions for WWII Blacker Bombards?

This still exists, largely like JohnG's 1981 photo according to Google maps. These days it is surrounded by a housing estate at Lydd on Sea - a very square-looking estate when viewed from above. It is about 2 miles north of the power station.
