I can't make out the writing on the Forts if that's what they are.

On the left it sayes 'Magazine', and on the right it probably sayes 'Fort Townsend', which was a Redoubt, but used just as a dwelling place (i believe) after the Lines were extended, and it became obselete as part of the main fortifications.

This is the section that curled around the dockyard, St Mary's Island end.  You can't see the Chatham end on this one  :)

Which end would that have been Kyn?Was it where the Lines went down to the River at Chatham or the other end?I can't make out the writing on the Forts if that's what they are.
