The area in question is the land which is opposite the police station in Gillingham

As MedKev86 rightly points out its going to be in Gillingham. So why are they calling it  "Chatham Central Park"

It's a name the developers have given it. I don't think the powers that be would be too keen on it either so I'd imagine it will change as the development progresses.

This has been spoken about for the last couple of years.

The area in question is the land which is opposite the police station in Gillingham, between there and Pier Approach Road-ish.

It refers to Chatham Docks - http://www.medwayports.com/chatham/index.htm

The development is referred to as Chatham Waters - http://www.chathamwaters.co.uk/

At the very least it will get rid of the eyesore that is the scrap yard.

Ive attached a screenshot of the proposed site from the Chatham Waters website. The bottom of the picture is the path around the new Police Station, the road in the bottom right hand of the picture leads to Medway Road.

The map will give you an idea of where it is and what ugliness is there already. http://binged.it/16krqCP

Having had a quick glance at the documents for MC/13/0643, I think this application only deals with part of the overall development proposed for the for the area. But then I haven't really got time at the moment to go through everything, so don't take my word for it lol.

Anyone know about this? What potential sites is it set for and what damage to the historical locations there?
