Ted Heath was born in Broadstairs, educated in Ramsgate and MP for Bexley and Old Sidcup, which is sort of Kent.

Denis was a member of Lamberhurst Golf Club and they rented an apartment at nearby Scotney Castle. There have been some photos of them at Scotney in the press. She also stayed at Godinton House after the opening of the Channel Tunnel. She certainly had other occasions to visit Kent during General Election campaigns

Thought I would start a topical issue. Margaret obviously had Dartford connections, but apart from that, I can only remember her once coming to Medway Towns, that was when I saw her briefly when she visited the Gillingham Business Park, on an election campaign. (year  ?)

Does anyone else have any memories of her visits. I guess she may not have wanted to visit the towns, much, after the Dockyard closure!
