As a child, in the late sixties, my family owned a beach Chalet/hut, which was just down the steps from what was then a bingo hall full of one armed bandits that took a sixpence, we used to play on the top of the cliffs, it`s now called the Pavilion Theatre, but it used to be called the Coronation Bandstand, built in 1903 at the cost of ?350. The steps and lamps still remain and the concrete circle where the deckchairs stood, went to a bootfair in there a couple of years ago, but never knew its history till now. rere
