News: “Over the graves of the Druids and under the wreck of Rome,
Rudely but surely they bedded the plinth of the days to come.
Behind the feet of the Legions and before the Norseman’s ire
Rudely but greatly begat they the framing of State and Shire
Rudely but deeply they laboured, and their labour stand till now.
If we trace on ancient headlands the twist of their eight-ox plough.”

I seem to remember hearing that the people who owned the houses on the land that Asda built on were paid double the market rate to move. Not sure if this was just hearsay, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I'm sure Asda built it, some time mid 90s I would guess.

I was shown this photo last night and was asked if this was the construction of the supermarket Asda. Its certainly on the right site but was it Asda or did Asda buy the building from another supermarket?.

Does anyone know what year this was?
