News: “Over the graves of the Druids and under the wreck of Rome,
Rudely but surely they bedded the plinth of the days to come.
Behind the feet of the Legions and before the Norseman’s ire
Rudely but greatly begat they the framing of State and Shire
Rudely but deeply they laboured, and their labour stand till now.
If we trace on ancient headlands the twist of their eight-ox plough.”

:)  I think we all like a bit of hard graft!  Plus when we finish and can see the huge difference we make and it makes it very rewarding, not to mention your cakes.... :)

It's great to see the progress! Sorry I wasn't there today, Kyn. Hopefully I can (finally) muck in next time.

As the day went on we started to see the difference, although there is still so much more earth to shift!  Oh, and the huge concrete boulder!

Ha ha, love that pic of Merc after pulling up the concrete :)

You can see the pics of when we finished last time here: http://www.kenthistoryforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=16854.msg144194#msg144194

There had been a few falls since then but this is how it looked when we started today.

Three of these were removed from it all, luckily only one came down the stairs!

I did swear a bit earlier, but only because my wonderful brother decided to roll a chunk of concrete towards me that hit me straight on the shin!!!!  It must have been karma as I was laughing a little earlier cos he got one in his ankle :)

Another very good workday as we continued clearance of the stairway to the surface. No major injuries to report tho' Kyn was hopping about a bit and swearing a lot at one point for some reason!!

Before we can complete the clearance here there is a huge, and I mean huge lump of concrete in our way which we will have to deal with somehow!!
