The appliance in the bay is a Commer K2 water tender introduced in the summer of 1966. However, at this time, these would have been allocated to wholetime stations, not retained ones so I think this photograph is approx 1971/2>. Appliances were allocated to retained stations from wholetime ones when their machines were due for upgrading.

Aylesham Fire Station was built in 1955.
