Prior to it becoming the R.E. School of M.E., the R.E's bridging camp was at Wouldham on the Medway. See previous Forum content.

Kyn, I recall that there was an area like this at the bottom end of Gordon Barracks close to what became the site for the B&Q store. There is an aerial picture somewhere on the forum taken from over Twydall estate that shows this area with the A2 running across the bottom.

It looks as if the training moved up to Gillingham, this shows the Bowl in Gillingham Business Park - seems to have been two craters expanded to make what you can see now.

Not sure exactly where this was situated. I've seen other photos showing bridging exercises taking place in front of the Ravelin Building but don't know if this photo is the same area:
