I seem to remember something about it and a line of WW1 defences stretching across from Bobbing to Detling in an edition of Bygone Kent a long time ago.

If any of our readers want to have a look round Cranbrook Wood the easiest access is from Chestnut street  beside the A249 using the bridleway over the bridge.

I have just seen on Facebook, under The Defence of Swale Project, two photos of the WW1 Redoubt at Cranbrook Woods in Newington, near Sittingbourne.
Has anyone heard of this? I haven't either, and guess no one else has either as I cannot find anything on here about it.
