Gold Medal had a shop in Rochester High Street, same side as the War Memorial, Strood end. Only purchased one thing from them, never again. Paid a deposit on the article, went to collect it the next day and had to pay the full HP price, a difference of four pounds, my take home pay was seven pounds a week then. Yes, I was young and naive then, but it taught me a good life skill, regarding trust.

Anyone heard of them? Left Chatham in the 50s to set up in Higham.
