Back in the late 70s & early 80s I was a director of a heating service company that was part of a group that included the developers of Dent de Lion (known universally to us as Dandelion).

One day a very chirpy builder announced that he had found an arrowhead. He was promptly told to take it back, bury it near where he found it and keep very, very quiet about it. The financial strain of the works would have exploded the whole group if time was lost watching interested parties digging about for more artefacts. It did go pop eventually, but I had escaped by then.

I never got to go and snoop around that site, but some others were pretty interesting - about to go off topic so will stop there  :)

Kyn   -

Fascinating  -  thanks for posting.

I spent my early years in Westgate & can recognise the locations, but surely Reculvers, at a good 5 miles away,  is stretching things a bit ?

Although you can see Reculvers from Westgate !
