I started work at Mannington's top of Canterbury St in 1959. I remember the old bloke and there was a younger man who I thought was Len's son. He had glasses and wore a black beret and I'm sure he was married to a slim girl by the name of Pat.
Long time ago now but that's as I recall it.

I think she was, but can't say what relation.
The garage at the top of Canterbury Street was owned by Len Mannington, and his brother Bob owned Chatham Motor Company in Railway Street, where Wickes is now.  So the Manningtons were a well known local family..
It's no use getting old if you don't get artful

Hi,  I wondered if there was a photograph of Pat Mannington's. Next door, on the corner of the Brook and High Street, was Francis Iles art shop which I think were pulled down in the 70s.

                Many thanks
