A lot more of the later flooring of the let hand tunnel was removed, our volunteers worked really hard! We are finally down to the original floor level in half of the tunnel. Another couple of volunteers were removing plaster board from one of the casemates in the hope that the walls will dry out and the damp in the room will go away. Bags and bags of broken plaster board was removed and only about 6 foot of wall still needs to be done. All in all we had a really successful workday.

We will now be running work days every Saturday so please come along if you have some free time.  This will be part of a project to set up a charity and get the fort open to as many people as possible!

All help is gratefully received :)

It's the time tunnel effect that did that...

It's an interesting project we're involved with, I'm looking forward to its progression :)

Our next work day at Fort Luton will be on the 12th October, 10.30-4pm.  We will be carrying on removing the concrete from the left flank tunnel and there is still plasterboard to come out of one of the casemates to allow the walls to dry out.  There may be other work to do on the day but we are concentrating on clearing the left flank tunnel to turn it into a time tunnel for future visitors to the fort.
