The fuselage of one of the Sopwith Pups flown by 112 Squadron was discovered in a barn in 1973.

Sopwith Pup B1807

Built by Standard Motor Company in 1917 as part of a batch of 150 under War Office contract 87A461.
The Pup served first with 112 (Home Defence) Squadron RFC where it flew two sorties against the German Gotha raids as listed in the first post. The aircraft then went on to serve with 36 (HD) Squadron, 198 Night Training School, 76 (HD) Squadron (coded A7), and 39 Squadron at North Weald Basset.
In 1919 the Pup was sold to Wing Commander A R M Richards and was given the civil registration G-EAVX in November 1920.
The Pup was last flown at the 1921 Aerial Derby held on 16 July at Hendon. The aircraft was damaged in a landing accident after its pilot, Dring Leslie Frorestier-Walker, became ill.
The Aircraft was put into storage at Hendon, then moved to an estate in Dorset, where she lay untouched for nearly 50 years.

Discovered by Kelvyne Baker, the Pup is now being slowly restored to flying condition. As found the fuselage is in good condition and retained its original fittings and illuminated night-flying instruments. The Pup was originally fitted with a 100 HP Monosoupape rotary engine with its distinctive cowling. It was fitted with a 80 HP Le Rhone engine in 1918.

Formed from B flight of 50 squadron as Home Defence unit, 30 July 1917. Based at Throwley until disbanded 13 June 1919.
Reformed Egypt May 1939.
Equipped with the Sopwith Pup, it was a day fighter squadron until February 1918, when it rearmed with the Sopwith Camel for night fighter operations.
Prior to being disbanded it began to equip with the Sopwith Snipe.

The CO, Major Brand, achieved the squadrons sole 1917-18 victory just 11 minutes after take off. (23.15 hrs)
He was making his first run along the patrol line when he saw a Gotha flying west over Faversham at 8,700 ft, some 200 ft above his own height.
The Gothas front gunner opened fire and Brand got in two 20-round bursts, stopping the bombers starboard engine. The Gotha banked and dived to the north-east, Brand followed and, closing to 25 yards, gave three 25-round bursts. The Gotha burst into flames and crashed at Harty on the Isle of Sheppey.
