You might find what you want here. Most old companies kept records of the building of all their wagons including any extras built in, also they often gave the colour scheme as stipulated by the purchaser.This is assuming your wagon was bought new from Fodens and not bought second hand.

Thank you each. The photo certainly suggests a two tone livery with perhaps gold or yellow lining around the panels.

I should have noted that it is a Foden R type reg. C1935. Perhaps S5 a steamer replacement?

I will have a word with the Oracle who can remember the Steam Fleet livery. But if I remember right it was a two tone green livery similar to the M & D busses.

Without knowing I would guess a dark green. Great photo.

A friend of a friend is restoring this lovely old Foden and wants to put it back into its original KCC livery. Can anyone advise what the original colours may have been? It's current colour is a deep shade of rust!
Red or green is the "general" colour adopted by Councils or Road contractors at this time, any ideas anyone?
