Spot on Grandarog. I can just remember seeing one in use in Chartham in the very early 1970's.

Its an old Tar Boiler. Used to be used for road repairs. Probably ended up on a farm to use preserving the bottom of fencing stakes and gate posts . :)
PS : Is that the one in the field at Stone Acre, Otham?
