A wonderful and almost unspoilt medieval church actually (and unusually) dedicated to The Decollation of St. John The Baptist as in the event and not the person himself. It is thought that it may have received this dedication after the stone on which he was beheaded was brought to England as a relic and housed temporarily at Doddington - why on earth this would have occurred in an out of the way country church with no affiliated college of priests of high patronage, is anyone`s guess though.

Pics 3 and 4 show the exterior and interior of the Priests door. They must have been very small in those days.
