News: “Over the graves of the Druids and under the wreck of Rome,
Rudely but surely they bedded the plinth of the days to come.
Behind the feet of the Legions and before the Norseman’s ire
Rudely but greatly begat they the framing of State and Shire
Rudely but deeply they laboured, and their labour stand till now.
If we trace on ancient headlands the twist of their eight-ox plough.”

Thanks conan, I had a feeling this subject was on the Forum, I must be getting very absent minded these days.

There used to be grass track racing at the Lydon? track on the A2 outside Dover. I spent many summer weekends watching "Don Golden Alf Hagon Malcom Simmons ect".
I think its a Road track now. I cant recall any other names but it was very popular in my part of Kent in my teens. I used to go with Harry Tanton from Hougham.
