News: “Over the graves of the Druids and under the wreck of Rome,
Rudely but surely they bedded the plinth of the days to come.
Behind the feet of the Legions and before the Norseman’s ire
Rudely but greatly begat they the framing of State and Shire
Rudely but deeply they laboured, and their labour stand till now.
If we trace on ancient headlands the twist of their eight-ox plough.”

My very first car ajemp

My very first car was a Ford Poplar. 3 speed gearbox. side valve. no wing mirrors. no radio. i can remember some sort of heater. air operated wipers. when you climbed a hill in the rain, the wipers would stop. petrol consumption was rubbish but then you could buy 4 gallons for one pound. there was a starter handle (sat nav was in the glove dept ... a map) the car was cheap and cheerful but enjoyable,.
