Bowzell Ltd.

From the Companies House web site

Company status Active
Company type Private limited Company
Incorporated on 9 April 1941

One of the current Directors is a William Brett (Brett Group?)

There is an entry in the charges section - "F/H land builders yard and workshops situtate at no. 373 dover road upper walner walner kent" I assume it should be Walmer.

The company may have been involved in repairs to Dover's Promenade sea wall in the 1940s or '50s.In my old book about the Cinque Ports i think there's a photo of a crane on the Prom in rough weather.I remember the lorries about Dover too. Were they painted a dark green?

Although the name lives on in Plant Hire, wonder if anybody knows anything about this firm that was once quite well known around Kent on major building projects. Am more interested in the history of it, when founded and who was behind it, something which, so far I have drawn a blank. I believe they may have been involved in building coastal defences, etc, in the late 1930s.
One of the coaches they used to convey workers to sites, probably dates from late 1960s.
