Edward C Wynter. Air Mechanic 1st Class RNAS Eastchurch.
Died Sheppey 5-2-1916 aged 19. Accident.
Buried Seaford Cemetery Sussex.


Royal Aircraft Factory BE2c No. 993 crashed 20 January 1916, both crew members injured, E C Wynter dying 5 February 1916.
The other crew member, Flight Sub-Lt Cecil Hill Darley, survived.

Fredrick T Pullen. Able Seaman, HMS Actaeon.

Gilbert Wildman-Lushington. Royal Marines Artillery, temporary rank of Captain while holding the appointment of Commander of the RFC.

           Died 6-11-1914.
  Both men lost at sea in Bristol TB8 #1220. Flying from Eastchurch to Dunkirk. Shot down near Diksmuide.
  Commemorated on Chatham Naval Memorial.

Lionel Rainford. Petty Officer Air Mechanic RNAS.
Died Eastchurch 16-12-1914, natural causes.

1915

Harold J Batchelor. Flight Sub-Lieutenant. B Flight 2 Squadron RNAS Eastchurch.
Died 11-5-1915. Bleriot XI-Parasol #1540 lost at sea.
Commemorated on Chatham Naval Memorial

Preston Albert Watson. Temporary Flight Sub-Lieutenant RNAS Eastchurch.
Died 30-6-1915 age 34. Crashed nr Heathfield Sussex flying from Eastchurch to Eastbourne in Caudron GIII #3256.

           Canadian. Died Sheppey 12-9-1915.
   Mid air collision between Caudron G-III #3283 (Alexander) and Short S-38 #65 (Keith-Johnson).
   Both men buried Sheerness Cemetery.

1916

Died Milton 17-1-1916 aged 31. RAF BE2C #1146 sideslipped and crashed.

Died Sheppey 23-1-1916. Maurice Farman Shorthaorn #8469 crashed and wrecked.

Leslie H Hardstaff. Flight Lieutenant RNAS. Admiralty aero testing staff.
Died Sheppey 28-10-1916. Sopwith Triplane #N510 (new type, not original triplane) crashed when tail flutter during speed test caused tail to break away at 100 ft.

           Died 10-12-1916.
John D Hume DSC. Flight Lieutenant RNAS. Served in Mesopotamia 1915-16.
           Died 10-12-1916 aged 20.
   Short 184 floatplane #9054, flying from Westgate, dived into sea from a considerable height while on patrol near the Tonge light vessel
   Both men buried Sheerness Cemetery.

1917

William Jonas. Air Mechanic 1st Class RNAS Grain.
Died 29-6-1917. Illness.
Buried Manor Park Cemetery Essex.

Robert Middleton. Air Mechanic 1st Class RNAS Eastchurch.
Died 7-7-1917. Illness.
Buried Lowestoft (Kirkley) Cemetery.

Ronald B Morrison. Flight Sub-Lieutant, Experimental Armament Department RNAS Grain.
Died Hoo 13-7-1917 aged 22. Died of injuries after RAF FE2B #A826 went into a spiral nose dive and was completely wrecked.

Ayimer Bettington. Squadron Commander RNAS.
Died Sheppey 12-9-1917. Avro 504B #N6150, flying from Eastbourne, crashed and completely wrecked.

Died 25-6-1918 aged 25. Lost control of Sopwith Camel #B6289 24-6-1916, Died of injuries.
