News: “Over the graves of the Druids and under the wreck of Rome,
Rudely but surely they bedded the plinth of the days to come.
Behind the feet of the Legions and before the Norseman’s ire
Rudely but greatly begat they the framing of State and Shire
Rudely but deeply they laboured, and their labour stand till now.
If we trace on ancient headlands the twist of their eight-ox plough.”

I understand that Sunny Dene School was a Preparatory school for boys going on to either Public Schools or the Navy.  I am trying to trace 2 boys who were at the school on the 1911 census - and would like to be able to find their school records somewhere!

Their names were Thomas Reginald Whelan born 20th May 1901 (known as Reggie) and his brother William George Whelan born 8th July 1902 (known as Hugh).  I know what happened to them after they left England in 1921 and went to Australia and Canada but would like to fill in the gap between 1911 and 1921.

Does anyone know of any schools that were 'fed' by Sunny Dene School?

Many thanks
