Hoo Peninsular. ( We always called it The Isle of Grain). Interesting prog. on BBC at week-end reporting on the salt marsh sheep kept there & the thousands of wild fowl. I was particularly interested in seeing, from the other side ( I only ever saw them from The Strand, Gillingham) the forts- or one of them. Looked much the same as I remember back in the late 30's, so weathered very well. Anyone ever been " on board" in recent years? During the war they were manned by the army, mainly as look out posts.
