To the memory of Sir John Frederick William Herschel Bart.
Astronomer & Scientist
7 March 1792 – 11 May 1871
He lived for 31 years at Collingwood in this Parish and is buried in Westminster Abbey.
Also his wife Margaret Brodie Herschel nee Stewart.
16th August 1810 – 3 August 1884
She died at Collingwood and is buried in this churchyard.
