I am a new member.
I am restoring a table loom made by Douglas Andrew Looms of Canterbury and would like to find out more about the manufacturer and this part of Canterbury's industrial heritage. The looms were once 'world famous' but I can find nothing at all on the internet. It is as if this company never existed.
I have gleaned a little information from Kent libraries and from the Cathedral Archives that Douglas Andrew ltd was at Summer Hill, Harbledown in 1958 and at Gordon Road, Wincheap in 1958-1970.
If anyone has any local knowledge or information about the company or their products I would be very grateful.
Best wishes
