Ironically Oare Windmill is situated in what was a detached portion of Luddenham.

Oare Mill, near Faversham, last weekend.  Contrary to previous writers this mill was built in 1872.  It ceased work in the early 1920s, and remained derelict until the late 1950s when it was bought for conversion into a house.
