News: “Over the graves of the Druids and under the wreck of Rome,
Rudely but surely they bedded the plinth of the days to come.
Behind the feet of the Legions and before the Norseman’s ire
Rudely but greatly begat they the framing of State and Shire
Rudely but deeply they laboured, and their labour stand till now.
If we trace on ancient headlands the twist of their eight-ox plough.”

Thanks for information and picture. It looked to be a nice pub, but alas, just one more for the pub graveyard.       ajemp.

It shut as a Pub back in about 2012 then it was an indian restaurant for a while .Neither options were viable as a profitable business. One of Swale Borough Councillors tame developers jumped in with a plan for housing. As the council has a policy of flooding Sittingbourne and Sheppey with housing and sparing Faversham the app was bulldozed through despite opposition from a couple of Councillors who are not in the Conservative Cabal that runs the Council.
