Yup - I did get the two groups mixed up .
The solution to every problem is a.) time , or  b.) another problem.

AlanH,
You could always try Familysearch.org
It's free and covers the world. I've had great success with British families in both NZ, India and Burma from way back.
Whether Rochester-bred will ever find who she is looking for is a different matter. With no surname to go on, that will be a brickwall I would think.
Half our life is spent trying to find something to do with the time we have rushed through life tryi

I'm following this with interest as my niece in NZ has done some research on our family history and I'd like to carry it further. Problem is with an ancestry with Irish, Scots and who knows what plus records which from some places are not good,  makes it a tough job.
AlanH.

Join the Kent History Forum  A very helpful friendly society . Cost approximately 10 per year .
Try it via a search machine first ?????

I am already a member of this forum and it is free ,so a bit lost here .

I think CDP meant the Kent Family History Society.

That makes it a very difficult one.

The only possible solution to that one that comes to mind would be visit Sittingbourne library and work your way through the electoral registers for those years.

I've not used registers that recent. But the ones I have used (1920s) list electors by their road/street and house numbers so it may not be such a daunting task as it first appears.

Good luck

Try www.192.com   It searches phone numbers and the open electoral registers going back a few years. It is free to carry out a search for basic details but you have to pay to see the full address/phone number listing.

The only information I have is the year, a rough age, the road and village in Kent and a first name. .

I am trying to search for a family member`s real father who lived in Kemsley in Kent. All I know is where they lived in 1992. Are there any Kelly`s directory books for that year please or does anyone know a way I could try to find them please.
