Those GoogleEarth aerial photos of Kent seem to be from the 1944-1945 time frame, roughly, so D-Day-related depots are certainly a possibility.

RARDE Fort Halsted is situated to the North of Sevenoaks, the area shewn in the photo is to the South West and comprises a large area of woodland including Whitley Forest and Millbank Woods.  I believe the area was occupied (at least in part) by Canadian Troops prior to the D Day landings.

cptpies. In the late 60's, I used to call on the Royal Armament Reasearch Development Establishment near Sevenoaks. Never saw it from the air so don't know just how big or its shape, so a possibility?
