Solved His Repair Problem
LONDON, Saturday.
Frederick Eldridge, of Chatham, Kent, was summoned for failing to comply with a Gillingham Borough Council direction to repair the roof and  guttering of a house of which he was the landlord. When he appeared in court he was told that unless he obeyed the order the council would step in and do the work and charge Eldridge for the repair.
"Excellent," commented EIdridge, "That is just what I want. I have been  trying to find a builder to repair the house for the past six months."
