Here is the card for my Gt G.Father. He was a Caulker / Rivetter in the Dockyard and died of a Cerebal Haemorrhage, the result of an accident there.

I vaguely remember one my Dad had from WW11, it was for a certain German whose name you can guess. I can't remember the words now but it but probably gladdened a few hearts in England.

These are the interiors of the cards.

Minnie Lucy Smitherman would have been my aunt.

Filmer Francis Smitherman was my grandfather, Minnie's father. Killed by his horse and cart - wheel ran over his head.

Franklin George Smitherman was Filmer's brother.

Lucy Mary Ann Colyer, wife of Walter Colyer, was my maternal Great Grandmother. He took on the Harrow at Lidsing after her death and remarried, Catherine Day.

Edith Ellen Smitherman was Filmer's sister

Plodding through the extensive piles of paperwork and photos concerning my family history, I have found these little cards, each commemorating the death of an individual. I suspect that I may have more as the piles are not in any order whatsoever.

Each originally had a black bordered envelope.
