News: The modern name of Kent is derived from the Brythonic word kantos meaning "rim" or "border", or possibly from a homonymous word kanto "horn, hook"

Here's a screen shot from the data base, it shows a line of 8 boxes running pretty well north south and extending either side of Bramling and Ickham so there's plenty still left in the area

(Image removed from quote.)

and here's the street view of the one by the Haywain.

Is anything remaining of the Defended Buildings?

Thanks

Another street view screen grab from the Ickham area. Data base number S000 1635 type 24. At the junction of Wingham Lane and Braye Lane

The pillbox on the A257 at Bramling at the Haywain pub is quite well known but there are 2 other boxes within 500m, which may not be so famous. The first is hidden in a line of trees and almost free of graffiti, perhaps because of its position. Looks like a Type 24 and is at about TR226571. The other box is also Type 24, further north at about TR226578 on the border between 2 fields, The floor level in the second box has been raised about 1m by earth fill but a brick table (for a Bren gun?) is extant. I assume that they are both on a database ?
