News: “Over the graves of the Druids and under the wreck of Rome,
Rudely but surely they bedded the plinth of the days to come.
Behind the feet of the Legions and before the Norseman’s ire
Rudely but greatly begat they the framing of State and Shire
Rudely but deeply they laboured, and their labour stand till now.
If we trace on ancient headlands the twist of their eight-ox plough.”

Dover Couple 70th Wedding Anniversary
I recently went to Canada to celebrate with my Aunt and Uncle, their 70th Wedding Anniversary. The were married in Dover in 1948. Donald Beddows and (my related Aunt) Hilda Wilson, her sister (my Mother) also went from the UK for the event. The wedding was on Sat 26th March (Easter Saturday).
They emigrated to Canada in 1956 with their son Paul and Daughter Jill.

The Wilson family lived in Old Dover Road (I think). Their sons George and Claude were killed serving in the RAF in 1945
