News: The modern name of Kent is derived from the Brythonic word kantos meaning "rim" or "border", or possibly from a homonymous word kanto "horn, hook"

I assume you have had a look in Gulvin's book "Kent Home Guard"?

Apart from that, it might be worth asking in Dartford's museum

I'm sure I have seen a picture of an armoured car which was made for the Home Guard -this may have a connection with the engineering company J&E Halls which were in Dartford, although it doesn't seem to be mentioned in the official history of Halls.

As I was born and bred in Dartford, I would be interested to hear what you can find out? My Grandfather was in the ARP but none of my family were in the Home Guard unfortunately.
