This was my local in the mid 80's. Landlord then was Kenny Brown. Sadly it is now flats. Grew up on the White Road estate where we had 4 local pubs, The White Swan (demolished and replaced with flats) Duke of Wellington (demolished and replaced with housing) The Edward (not sure what this is now) and The Ordinary Fellow (converted to flats).
Had some great nights drinking in the Fellow and Kenny was always up for a laugh.

I'm a member of the club. Let me know when you want to go (weekends) and I'll buy you a beer.

Thank you for a very nice offer.
I have always belonged to a club somewhere and, also and always, kept my associate CIU membership up to date but sadly due to health I do not venture out so much lately.

I courted a girl from near there many years ago and used to pop in this pub now and again, but to be honest I used to drink next door in Palmerston Road Working Mans Club more often that that. If that`s still open I would love to visit one more time.

I used to meet some White Road estate lads in there before going down into Chatham in my late teens. George Humphreys rings a bell as one of them. Nice pub back then.
What a shame so many have gone.
