Colin, there used to be one of these Red painted mines at the top of Leysdown Prom, on the opposite corner to greenos fish bar. Peanut Len used to have his stall right by it. That was used as a collection box but cannot remember who for..Seamans mission maybe. I have tried to find a photo or postcard with the mine and Len showing but have had no luck...so if anyone can help it would be a very happy captured memory for me.I often wonder what happened to that mine, does anyone know? cos we could do with getting it back!!! outside minster Abbey gatehouse as a donation collector would be nice.

I do not think you see many of these nowadays at the seaside.

Dose anyone remember the one in Sheerness?
I took the photo of this one today in Broadstairs.
